I don't know how to fly

வார்த்தைகளால் பறக்கும் பறவையாய் நான்,

ஆனால் ஆகாயத்தில் பறக்கத் தெரியாதவன்.

அங்கே எந்தத் தடையும் இல்லை;

அப்படியிருக்க, எப்படி சேர முடியும் என்று

யோசித்தேன்…

கெஞ்சினேன்…

கொஞ்சினேன்…

அப்போது—

அத்தனை அற்புதங்களையும் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டு

அது பெண்ணாக மாறி

என்னிடம் இறங்கி வந்தது.

இனி நான் பறக்கவே வேண்டாம்;

என் வார்த்தைகளை அவளிடம் ஒப்படைத்து,

அவள் அழகை ரசிப்பேன்,

ரசித்துக்கொண்டே இருப்பேன்…

I am a bird that flies with words,

yet I do not know how to fly in the sky.

There are no barriers up there;

still, I wondered—

how could I ever reach it?

I thought…

I pleaded…

I coaxed…

Then—

gathering all its miracles within,

it transformed into a woman

and descended to me.

Now I no longer need to fly;

I place my words in her hands,

and I will admire her beauty,

and keep admiring it…

నేలను చెమ్మ చేసి ముద్దాడే చినుకులు కొన్ని,

కానీ రంగు మారి నా దోసిళ్ళలో పడ్డ చినుకు నువ్వు,

 జీవితంలో ఒక్కసారే జరిగే అద్భుతంగా మిగిలావు...

A few pearly drops among thousands of raindrops,

A few drops that kiss the ground and keep it wet,

But you are a purple drop that fell into my hands directly, becoming a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence...

తెలుపవా నువ్వెలా వచ్చావు ఈ భూమికి?

తెలుపవా నువ్వెలా వచ్చావు ఈ భూమికి? తాను అప్పు తీసుకున్న ఆవిరిని అంతా కురిపించలేదని, కొన్ని చినుకులు తక్కువ అయ్యాయని, నింగి ఒక తారను బదులుగా నేలకు ఇచ్చేసిందా? ఇది కాకుంటే మరో అద్భుతమా? ఇలా ఏ అద్భుతం జరగకనే నువ్వు ఈ భూమిపై ఉన్నావు అంటే నమ్మకం కుదరదే...

Do you know how you came to this land? Did the sky pour out a few drops less from the vapors it borrowed, and give a star to the earth instead to balance the debt? If not this, then some other miracle? I can't believe that you are on this earth without any miracle happening like this...
